“long” hair, or NOT “long” hair? Thar be the question, matey. Arrrrr!

Now that I’ve grown out all the layers and nearly all the remnants of perm and actually have hair that falls longer than my jawline, I’m figuring out again just *why* I was keeping it so short all these past years!

Y’see, even though my hair is on the dark-ish side for color, it’s still really fine and really REALLY straight. Which means that it does this frustrating thing called getting in my eyes and mouth with the slightest provocation. And there’s all these frizzies that are still there even with the application of this stuff called “anti-frizz serum”. Then add in the white ~~and gray~~ hairs that are gaining in population. They don’t act ANYthing like those that still have that brunette-ish color. In fact, the whiter the hair strand is, the more likely it is to stand straight up on top of my scalp. It’s sad to look in the mirror and realize I have a single long white hair framing a question mark right over the center of my skull…

Throw into the equation the saturatedly humid nature of SE Michigan’s current atmosphere lately, and I’ve got this weird combination of hair in my eyes and mouth, plus a batch stuck firmly to the back of my neck and a major case of frizzies. Makes me consider adopting the Yul Brynner look ….

I’m considering buzzing (for the nth time), but there’s also that little thing called sunburn. : /

Love the description of your whites! I’ll be amused when mine start coming in — they’d probably match the rest of my hair (mind of its own).

Jay - I just took a couple of pix of the frizzies, but I won’t know how well the white stand-up hairs are going to show (I had to do this single-handedly, BTW, since the dogs don’t know how to use cameras ). It was an adventure trying to coordinate holding the clipboard over/behind my head with one hand and hold the camera BACKWARDS with the other and getting the aim right by looking in a mirror…

Try using your Mac laptop. The kids at school are always taking pictures of themselves. It involves less hand/eye/mirror/bassackwards camera contortions

Mmmmmm,
Long hair… I would like to see you with long hair. Anne and I, before kids, would go to the Spike Horn bar for a beer or two. This bar-fly liked to paw at Anne and talk about how he liked her long hair! I also remember a couple years back someone sent a message to Anne, “I think you might be kinda cute” (or something like that!). Why does your blog make me want to say the same thing!

Bill, that was that ridiculous Turtle Soup guy, the one who used to always be coming off 3-day drunks.

And I never replied to the “kinda cute” guy. He was 27??!!?? Or so he said. I am just not that interested, fer Kee-reist.

I throw away AARP stuff and Cadillac ads on a regular basis too.
